How can you shorten your resume without losing important information?

It's all about context, with this order or thinking: 1. What job are you applying to? What were the requirements to apply to that specific position & specific industry? 2. Which of your experiences / educations / skill-sets that will make you seen relevant with the job you're applying? 3. Write down "familiar" words & phrases to the Recruiter - considering your reader psychology helps you to get noticed better.

There is a really great method, called achievement-oriented bullet points. Try to add results to your resume. You can use numbers and highlight them in Bold but limited so as not be overwhelm the reader. Showcase how your skills and actions directly contributed to positive outcomes. For instance, "Implemented a new marketing strategy resulting in a 20% increase in website traffic."

Being mindful with words that you used in Resume, will also shown the Recruiter how effective your communication is. Because Resume is the place to write compact, consice, and essential responsibilities that you did - as a proof of your capabilities & achievements.

Particularly when transitioning into a different career, consider adopting a skills based format for your resume. This is the space for you to highlight transferable skills that connect to the criteria highlighted in the job specification. When writing these, think about how you've used these skills to make an impact. Is there a way they could be measured even if you don't have specific metrics or data?

I would like to add 2 important point here: For working professionals with more than 15 - 20 years of experience, concentrate on your recent 10 years of experience to keep it relevant to the next role you are applying for. Create a portfolio or GitHub repository and move your projects there, then provide the link in the contact information. This helps you identify the relevant information and shorten your resume length.

Here is my take on these : 1. Eliminate any information that isn't directly related to the job you're applying for. 2. Instead of lengthy paragraphs, use concise bullet points to list your achievements and responsibilities. 3. Remove personal details like your date of birth, marital status, etc. This helps the recruiter scan only relevant information in the resume.
