Some good points on the upsides here already, but there are plenty of downsides and I'm finding more customers who have tried cloud wanting to go back to onsite servers. I have known of customer using cloud who have been help up for ransomware and not been able to trade for days as a result. You are not in charge of your data if you every want to change company who have be charged a large fee. A lot of the benefits are for the EPOS provider as it makes it much easier to support and update, but this shouldn't be the customers concern. I'm not saying don't have cloud, just don't assume it's always the best option.

Make sure many people in your compay know how to use the system. Too many times I have seen one member of staff being relied on, who then doesn't tell anyone anything to protect their job, who then leaves, and you company is left with now knowledge in the business. Make sure many staff members know how to do everything.
