It's really about what works for you. I have used Skype, Teams, a little Zencastr, Squadcast, and Riverside. Riverside and Squadcast are probably the best but they do cost. Squadcast has APIs to use to schedule your interviews and Descript. Riverside has live calling and live streaming. It all depends on what works for you.

I always recommend that both guest and host have a good mic and headphones. However, the room you record in is just as important. If your room has hard surfaces it's going to echo. Help minimize it with throw rugs, book shelves, etc. For mics, dynamic is better at eliminating background sounds. However, you need the mic close to your mouth. Condenser you have farther away but it picks up more background noise. You can get decent mics for under 200.

The best and preferred way is to go to your interviewee personally. But if you have to use remote means by computer, then remember three things: 1. Their mic. Is it a quality one or a standard headset mic? If the latter, that may impact the quality of your podcast. 2. Rubbish in, rubbish out. Record flat and as high a level as you can before distortion. You can tinker with eq in the mix. Also ask your interviewer to face a soft surface, a corner or close any curtains. It all helps to deaden their room. Just a pillow in front of them, out of sight of camera can make a world of difference to audio quality. 3. If recording for video use, BACKGROUNDS….

Editing is an art and science. Choosing the right software depends on your OS and what enhances your workflow. If you are creating video podcasts, I recommend Davinci Resolve. It has a great video editor and a great DAW. You can edit it all on that software without transferring it to another software.

Busca tu tiempo para no hacer ediciones rápidas que demeriten la calidad de tu podcast, juega con los efectos y disfruta tu edición.
