Promoting your podcast interview before its release is crucial for building anticipation. Start by creating teaser content, such as short video clips or engaging quotes from the interview, to share on social media platforms. Utilize eye-catching visuals and captions that pique curiosity. Collaborate with the interviewee to cross-promote on their social channels, extending the reach. Consider creating a countdown or sneak peek series, gradually revealing intriguing aspects of the interview. Leverage email marketing by sending out a newsletter to your subscribers, providing a preview and encouraging them to share. Engage with your audience by teasing behind-the-scenes moments or interesting anecdotes related to the upcoming interview.

Documenting your process of getting guests can be a great way to promote an episode. If you get someone to agree to be on the show, take a picture (or screenshot) with them and share it with your audience. Also, you can share content from when you are recording the episode with your audience so they know what is coming once you have the episode edited. The guest will also likely be excited to tell their audience they are on an upcoming show

I love the idea of collaborating with the host, but before asking for anything, I'd start by giving them something. They've already provided you with a platform and gave you access to their audience. Now, it's your time to retribute. Leave them a review, tag them in your posts about the interview, and give them a shoutout on stories, or Reels, or TikTok. Then, and only then, reach out with other ideas for further collaboration. By then, you'll have substantially increased your chances of getting a YES. And you'll have given them the praise they deserve after doing such good work.

Going live on your platform of choice is very helpful as well. Talking about the last episode as a debrief and sharing a little bit of what is coming up in the next one are very easy subjects to go live about.
