It's good to have a logical diagram, which illistrate the relevant location of each findings and their severity. For the per finding details, may be need these: a. severity b. confirmed scope of affect c. potential scope pending verification d. impact (confirmed & potential maximum) e. remediations/mitigations choice available f. remediations/mitigations in action (also potential completion date if applicable) g. technical details contact (optional) h. etc (such as blockers, special considerations)

Some decision-makers need quite the data, pro and con, and cause and effect analysis before they take your recommendations seriously. Other decision-makers need much less information and may be put off by the amount of data you used to present your arguments or findings. A great structure we used was: 1. BLUF: Bottom Line Up Front 2. Top 3 Key Messages that were most important 3. 1-2 pages executive summary 4. The rest is background information and easy to find based on what your stakeholder is interested in the most.

One visual I will never take for granted is a QR code. QR codes are great for a wider audience to quickly scan for a resource or even for contact information. Usually, I include one slide towards the end that has a QR code linking to any resources that are great to share, social media pages, or anything else that might be relevant to the presentation.

Make sure you don't get lost in visuals, I know from experience that depicting the nodes, the single point of failures, all the technical connections that are at risk - does not make decision-makers care more about cyber risk. On the contrary, a confused mind is not receptive to your message. Then, if you are using story telling, use their map of the world and focus on the impact, the outcome and the result. Don't only show them the negative reality, but help them imagine an alternative picture that resonates with them. An alternative picture that requires the technical recommendations. Finally, if you are writing to decision-makers - give them the option to decide. Don't decide for them. So recommendations are key.
