Understand that change is hard and resistance is natural. Communicate the vision and benefits of adopting new practices clearly and frequently. Involve the team early and empower them to shape the changes. Be honest about potential challenges and mitigate risks through pilots and iterations. Celebrate small wins and improvements to reward progress. Consider concerns individually and reaffirm your commitment to supporting people through the transition. Move forward gradually in an iterative way. Align structures to reinforce changes. Lead by example. Resistance surfaces concerns to address - by listening, communicating, and building psychological safety, you can overcome it.

You need to meet everyone where they are and what I mean is that not every one could have the same adoption level. People react differently when they encounter things they don’t understand and a leader could fall victim to trying to make them understand instead of helping them learn. My advice would remain to meet them where they are.

We need to consider the resistance as a problem statement. The important part of solving any problem to understand the root cause of that. Along with that, another approach is to bring the positive stories around lead software development and extreme programming and share that with the team.

This is what I use outcome mapping for. Understanding initial context, target outcome, benefits, obstacles, and next steps gets you off the launch pad as a team.

Know where you are by collecting baseline measurements. As your change clocks up successes make sure you publish those improvements against your baseline. Make it as public as you can. Show the failures too and how you turn that around.

Involve and empower your team to overcome resistance to change when adopting XP and LSD. Create a cross-functional core team to champion the change, solicit input and feedback from the rest of the team, and provide opportunities for team members to learn and practice the new skills and techniques. This fosters ownership, commitment, and accountability for change.

From my experience, Always will be resistance. Practical tips: -know your peers -identify motivators within the team -identify pains and fears -pay attention to the conversations the team is having( you will be surprise what you can find or how you can help) -observe team dynamics then act After all these steps once are identified. You have enough feedback to start acting and change things. Is not about techniques, frameworks, you name it. As well as learning who is resistant learn who is enthusiastic. Employ them as advocates for the change, especially if you are not on the team affected.

The most important thing to influencing change without asking too much of people is to make it accessible and valuable for them. It doesn't have to be easy, but you need to meet them where they are, sell them on your vision, and provide them an on-ramp to better.
