Divergent and convergent thinking needs to happen separately. If ideas are quelched as they are shared, idea growth is stunted. Allow for all the thoughts to come out, in fact, push for more and for crazy, some beautiful ideas present themselves when thinkers are desperate to add something, then, after everything has been shared, go through and evaluate each one based on criteria, remembering to question "could this be improved to be useful?"
