I'd like to point out that understanding the NFPA fire suppression standards for warehouses prior to occupying the space is paramount. What sprinkler density is required for the commodity to be protected? What pilled storage height can you have based on the sprinkler design? What flu space is required? Is in-rack sprinkler protection required? The NFPA standards will explain what is required, and the insurance company risk team can help interpret them. Answering these questions first and putting the required protections in first will save a great deal of work, before the warehouse is laid out and occuppied.

Consider to include in your multidisciplinary group: * Municipal and state emergency experts to provide climate/weather threats and how it may impact the evacuation (before, during or after) and or man made risks route/highway infrastructure bottlenecks (that may affect response time for ambulances, fire, etc.) * Recent multidisciplinary risk analysis of the warehouse (especially if the site has been expanded). * Consider Qty of work force per warehouse (by function/area) and evaluate walking distance time factor from their job post to the nearest emergency exit door up to their designated meeting spot outside the site. * CCTV, Fire detection/suppression, and access control systems are key in facilitating this process- (headcount)
