Starting with this, you can't change your natural environment to be a successful wildlife,nature photographer. Remember, only leave footprints take only photos. With regards to the natural environment do your research. Check weather patterns. Research the subject matter. Flora and fauna. Scan maps of where you will be. Pack as light as possible. Especially if hiking distances. As for the work arrangements with people, remember humans are more dangerous than anything you will encounter. Be sharp. Alert when negotiating. Take into account all expenses. Rental equipment, your time frame, paying any outside help plus contingent plan. Often weather throws a hitch. Especially if canoeing on large lakes. This is rewarding and well worth it.
