This is not true. The largest cloud providers are pretty similar in features and reliability and are converging in price points too. Basic services are becoming a commodity. The "common standards, protocols...." is complete BS - if you deploy your app in multiple environments (be it cloud, multi-cloud or Martian dumbbells that can run it) it's there by default.
