You must move with haste in our current market. But, as the late John Wooden once said; “Be Quick, but Don’t Hurry." Or mistakes abound.

One of the thing that is even more important than this is the ecosystem that is supported by that cloud AI platform. For example, if you want to sell to oracle netsuite customers your offering then Oracle cloud and deals better from Oracle can be a way to look if even when oracle might not fit in many of the categories discussed. Unlike the general Cloud AI platform, when a new breed of cloud AI platform targeted for a smaller customer segment increases (by application, by country, by industry etc) , the vendor lock-in desire will be evaluated. If that is still required then sure you should take that path.

OpenAI and even Anthropic are safe bets. Nobody will be blamed for picking it. In many use cases, they are the right bets. Azure AI Studio embraces open-source. It provides a portfolio of open-source LLMs from Hugging Face, NVIDIA, and Meta & more. These models are pretrained & cover a wide range of AI capabilities. These models are offered as a service, “Model as a Service” (MaaS), reducing operational overhead. With MaaS, complexities of infrastructure management, model deployment, scaling, and versioning are handled by the platform. Azure AI Studio also supports open-source frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, & Keras enabling developers to use the tools they are familiar with.

This will apply to all technical implementations as well. I will add to this mix is also industry standards. For example, using HL7 and FHIR for a healthcare-oriented cloud AI platform. Please think about both technology and industry standards and protocols.
