1 Encrypt your data

Encryption can prevent hackers from intercepting, stealing, or tampering with your data, and also comply with data protection regulations and standards. However, encryption can also introduce some overhead and latency to your application, as it requires additional processing power and time to encrypt and decrypt data. To minimize the impact of encryption on performance, you can use efficient encryption algorithms and techniques, such as symmetric encryption, stream encryption, and compression. You can also use encryption selectively, only for sensitive or confidential data, and avoid encrypting data that is already public or irrelevant.

Another way to ensure security and privacy is to implement authentication and authorization mechanisms in your application. On the cloud world it's always better to consider using managed services, they already have most of security principles covered by cloud vendors frameworks and usually offers betters performance/price than a regular service.

We can also consider having a well-designed pipeline of deployment and DevOps culture. If you work with platforms then you give access to your developers to create their own tools. The pipeline is where we assemble the whole system and we can inject bad/obsolete modules full of vulnerabilities.
