Through the analytics on my portfolio site, I've noticed an F-shaped click pattern across my menus and page buttons. Which makes sense. Hiring managers are looking at a lot of candidates and need to get a feel for work fast. I used choice architecture to funnel users directly to my best work and reduce friction. For me, this meant removing or reducing header menu items, restructuring components to prioritize my "top stories,"and reworking copy to hit the keywords I know they are scanning for.

Many content strategists struggle with stakeholders and clients making edits to content leaving it in a finished state that we wouldn't necessarily deem portfolio-ready. That's ok! We have all been there. I think it's important to share what you would have done had stakeholder or clients not been involved. This goes for budgetary constraints that have lead to less-than-ideal testing or research scenarios as well.
