In my experience as a design team leader, you often take the role of coordinating and the administrative side of the design process and making sure that the mechanics of the team are functioning efficiently on any given project. Majority of the time this is at the expense of the creative side of the project. Taking care of yourself also goes beyond the personal aspect and also means looking after or nurturing your creative side and instincts. Where possible, allow yourself the opportunity to get involved in the creative processes which are probably the reason you began to design in the first place. Allow your inner child to surface in and outside of work to keep you curious and interested.
