How can you learn and share about Web3 interoperability?

Interoperability is my favorite Web3 topic because involves technicality, business, and mindset challenges. Think of it like a T-shirt: you want to be able to wear it anywhere, not just in certain stores. The same is true for data in Web3. Without interoperability, data is siloed and can't be easily used across different platforms.

Interoperability is the holy grail! Today most applications are not interoperable as they rely on a specific infrastructure. Arguably if interoperability is achieved, it would be a major step towards sustainable mass adoption

Interoperability is the fundamental piece to bet on in web3. As of today, each blockchain network is like an independent island that cannot communicate with the others. It is like thinking that you can only send emails between Microsoft accounts. In the next few years we will see assets that can move between networks,

Interoperability is the sweet spot of Web3, blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, defi, NFT, gaming and the Metaverse. Once achieved with safety and security in mind then it’s a go!!!

Interoperability in Web3 is challenging because the game industry, which is essential for the Metaverse, was not designed to be part of the internet. This means there are no standards for virtual objects, rendering, or engines.

In my perspective as part of a project that's building a Web3 AI Data Layer, one of the challenges we face is standardizing on- and off-chain data in a way that's high-quality enough to be processed as an AI-worthy dataset. With thousands of blockchains in existence, processing uniform Web3 data is difficult without an established and complete set of standards. This is the problem we're addressing at 0xScope through our proprietary Web3-centric large language model.

The best book to learn about interoperability is The Metaverse by Matthew Ball. Part Ii, chapter 8 is an essential read for anyone in the space.

I'd suggest engaging directly with communities behind these projects. Platforms like Discord and GitHub offer direct access to discussions and developments. It's one thing to learn from structured resources, but interacting with developers and contributors can provide real-time insights and a deeper understanding of the challenges and innovations in the space. Also, consider contributing to open-source projects if possible. It's a hands-on way to grasp the intricacies of interoperability and see firsthand how different technologies integrate.

If you've been through the last bull run and are still active in the space, start producing content educating the public about the importance of interoperability. Best web2 analogy: logging in with Facebook on other websites. Protocols won't be able to invest enough time and resources into educating the masses on this topic since they're more niche to begin with. However, as a marketer, your experience and carries weight beyond the project(s) you work with. Choose your distribution channel, create a content calendar, post consistently, and improve along the way.

These experiences improve your technical skills and expand your network within the Web3 community. This opens doors to collaboration and insights into future trends.

Interoperability will come with more adoption, as people urge it for a better user experience and to gain the most of their investments.
