How can you learn 3D visualization without any prior experience?

Computer animation has never been so accessible. Grab a smart phone and start making movies. Download Blender (it's free) and start doing tutorials. Previs Artists are generalists, so pretty much anything you're learning to do is going to apply. But first and foremost it's all about the camera and telling a story clearly and visually. So take pictures, make short movies on a smartphone with good cuts and pacing and composition. Try to make it fun. Ultimately you will be judged by your work and your attitude, maybe more so than a resume. Follow your passion and just make things. If you put your heart into it, it will show.

I think you can use the adage that necessity is the mother of invention. Grab whatever you have available in terms of resources, old junk heap computer, 20 year old camera, and decide that you are going to make a short amount of output, say hundred frames across three camera angles using 2 computer generated assets in 3 weeks, then divide your time up so you can repeat each process at least three times or more, so processes might be the modelling, texturing, lighting and rendering. Because the first attempt will look awful, the second attempt will look OK and the third attempt will be sweet. Give yourself written goals to hit and keep pushing closer to abandoned but near enough, nothing is done, nothing is perfect. Start over and go again!

First get over your fear of doing it. It’s not that difficult just different than what you have been doing! Think positively! Kids can do it!

Pen, paper, a set ruler and a basic command of math. And perhaps a compiler/linker of choice ;) Or: the demoscene. That's how I did it from a real-time/procedural POV.

In my opinion learning the fundamentals is the most important part and a never ending journey. You can learn through various Youtube videos or take tutorials from the best in the industry like Ander Alencar or the ArchViz Artists. But most importantly following the reference images and understanding the process and story boarding behind it will help you create amazing visuals.

When starting out I see a lot of people get disheartened when things go wrong, and they will because you don't know how to use the software and this is a learning stage. The most important thing my teacher told me when I was learning was "just start it again, it will be quicker the second time". Often doing something several times helps you to learn and to improve, don't get attached to your work at the start, if you can make it once you can make it better the second time. Always use reference. And lastly learn the logic behind how things work, like normal maps so you can understand how they can be used or not used, this will put you ahead of so many others.

With my experience practicing and experimenting should happen everyday especially during the learning stage at least dedicated 5 hours daily to 3D .. it will help you greatly in different aspect especially learning faster because your time frame of learning is determined by your dedication to what you're learning

Un seul logiciel pour faire de la 3D, c'est insuffisant. Si vous utilisez 3ds max par exemple, vous aurez forcément besoin de Photoshop pour créer ou retoucher vos textures. mais de conna?tre la suite Substnace, ZBrush ou encore plusieurs moteurs de rendu est un plus. Photo ou un logiciel de compositing comme After Effects, resolve ou Nuke est fortement conseillé.

Take a class, either online or in person. I took classes at School of Motion for 2D and 3D design. Then, do the homework and practice your own style after the class is over.

Use references for every step. When starting project, do not rely just on your feelings and memories of how the object, material or environment should look like, find and use as many references as possible. You will also greatly benefit from gathering and studying references for composition, color palettes that work well, lighting scenarios that mesmerize, attractive camera positions: train your eye, that will pay double in your work and raise you above the competition.

With the arrival of AI, learning 3d no longer makes much sense. The entertainment industry will probably be turned upside down in the coming years, and currently it is impossible to know which jobs around 3d will still exist in 5 or 10 years. Moreover, the market of 3d and more generally, FX, video games or animation is completely saturated because of the too large number of schools that form new entrants. Starting in 3d at the moment is very difficult. I do not advise anyone to learn 3d to make a job.

Draw. Buy a ruler, measure tape, and maybe a vernier caliper. Learn to take measurements from real-world objects. Learn about color theories, optics, real-world materials, reflections, refractions, light sources, shadows, etc.
