How can you keep track of job applications on multiple platforms?

Don't track them. I talk to lots of burned out job seekers who have spreadsheets and data outlining every moment of their job search, but being a recruiter I can tell you that the rejection reasons can come from so many unstructured variables outside of the control of job seeker. Tracking jobs turns into "what's wrong with me, I've applied for X positions" The reality is that there isn't anything wrong with job seeker, it's all the hidden things that happen behind the scenes in recruiting. Stop tracking yourself against metrics/lists, just focus on the job your applying to, be joyful of the potential match and prospect and toss out the trackers. You can do the research and steps after the employer contacts you.

I often advise individuals to create a centralized system for organization in their job search. Start by maintaining a spreadsheet or using a job tracking app to record key details of each application, such as the job title, company, application date, and any follow-up actions needed. Categorize applications by status (applied, interviewed, etc.) for easy reference. Additionally, set reminders for follow-ups or deadlines. For instance, one of my clients implemented this method and used a spreadsheet, to efficiently manage and track their applications, ensuring no opportunity slipped through the cracks while staying organized and focused on their job search. With follow-up, they moved on to interviews and found their dream job!

Create a spreadsheet. List down each job you apply for with details like company name, job title, where you found the listing (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.), application date, and current status. This is like mapping out your entire job search journey. Adding contact information for each application is also helpful. Many people do not track their job search activities -- HUGE mistake. Manage your job search just like you would manage an important project at work (because job seeking is a 'project', with many moving pieces). There are a variety of online tools out there for tracking. Research and see which one appeals most to your liking; everyone is unique. Having a tracker enables you to keep tabs on applications, follow-ups, job interviews, networking calls, and other communications with prospective employers and professionals in your field. Most of all, your tracker will only serve it's true purpose if you TRACK (input) your activities accurately and CONSISTENTLY. Help yourself and make your time and efforts count. You won't regret it in the end.

Stay organized baby! Make sure you document in your personal calendar any upcoming phone screens, interviews, virtual meetings, or deadlines. Give yourself some time between appointments to prepare for the next one as well! You don’t want to be rushing into meetings unprepared, or worse…late!

Hacer seguimiento de tus solicitudes de empleo es imprescindible, pase lo que pase después.
