Don't forget about feedback to operators and drivers. Show them that comments and reports are taken into account and processed. Show them the solutions implemented (technical evolution, digital evolution, etc.) Measure progress and number of suggestions processed. Two more things to consider in ways to involve your fleet operators and drivers in identifying safety issues, is "Empowerment" and having an "Open Door Policy". Empower drivers by giving them a sense of ownership over their safety and that of their colleagues. Encourage them to be proactive in identifying risks and coming up with solutions. Maintain an open-door policy where drivers can freely communicate with management about safety concerns without scheduling formal meetings. Adding these strategies, may help create an environment where safety is a shared responsibility, and drivers feel invested in contributing to a safer workplace.

My philosophy in management has always been get on the same level as your direct reports. If you have a monthly/quarterly meeting that goes over the dept safety and rewards the good work done and helps correct the not so well done work you can earn the trust of your team and it give them a good sense of why they are being safe not doing it just because they were told to.
