So it must start with the basic and gradually as the students get learning, use their knowlege to get harder levels. With the mecanics, the game must have a story line that connects with the learners, so it keeps them playing.

There are two kinds of rewards and both of them has to be in the game: One is more about the learner feelings it has to have an emotional connection with them. It has to motivate the students and to do so you got 3 things to give to the learners: give them a sense of autonomy, give them the necessity to be better at something and give them a pourpose (that is the desire to do something for a bigger cause). The other kind of reward is the game's "money": badges, points, etc

Be careful here. Drafting, storyboarding, implementing, testing, adjusting... How much time to you have to write these scenarios? Will your user end up rage clicking through it? From my experience, scenarios by default do not equal engagement, in fact they often decrease engagement. If you create a role playing situation or conversation keep them extremely brief/ bite sized, reward the user and then move on to a different activity, video etc. Scenarios can completely blow your budget and timeline and deliver little in terms of productivity increases or ROI.

In my experience making many micro e-learnings for my company, a collaboration which creating from studying e-elearning is one of the crucial purposes when creating an e-learning. However, because of the the small amount of time that personnels spend for learning, we do not need to make fancy e-courses. But my suggestion is to make a series of e-courses that link to together with advanced courses and all courses need to complete by team. That means you have to finish the basic courses before you want jump up to the higher level, you will gather a team and get the results.

Integrate multiplayer elements? Sigh, I can't believe this is the LinkedIn recommendation... Don't do this in a digital system! If you want to encourage collaboration, do it offline, pre or post the digital application. People don't have time for digital social learning in the workplace - if they want to play an MMO, they'll use their console or PC after work. This also complicates creating the best possible gamified experience for your audience.
