As a sales coach, I find immense joy in boosting the sales team's spirit and morale. It's essential for the manager to conduct a weekly meeting, lasting 1-2 hours, dedicated to addressing the team's hurdles and celebrating their successes. This meeting should foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages open dialogue. Additionally, throughout the week, the manager ought to schedule a 'lunch and learn' with one or two sales representatives to delve into ways of adding additional value and support. Accompanying a sales rep on client visits is also a prudent strategy to add value.

Create opportunities for your salespeople to spend more time with their customers by supporting them with administrative assistants at the home office. Having them do admin work reduces their value add time with customers. Also, incentivize their pay with more frequent commissions based upon margin not revenue growth.

Build a process that works and validate the sales team that follow the process. A lot of times it's easy to feel "lucky" when you book a meeting or close a deal. there is no luck in sales, so always reward success

In my experience it starts with understanding your personnel. It’s worth digging in to what’s important to them and collecting all their feedback. Then utilize that info to build a Team North Star. This permits for them to be involved and collectively bought in to team values.

Leverage your network to bring sales leaders from outside the company with themed monthly workshops. Most importantly, continually ask reps, frontline managers and directors of gaps and personally focus on filling them.

Create a positive and supportive workplace culture. Encourage teamwork, camaraderie, and mutual support. Organize team-building activities or events to strengthen interpersonal relationships.Acknowledge the importance of work-life balance. Provide flexible work schedules or remote work options when feasible. This shows that you value your team members' well-being.

Fostering a sharing culture is way to go. Often that sales is too independent and having an agile team sharing can harvest the customers’s and industry’s insights at scale. One move shared, the whole team move!

Often I say Teams have to be alt family and hence communication becomes critical. Fostering an environment when teammates encourage each others and share their learning each other helps develop a healthy culture. It is with transparent communication, easily approachable seniors that team mates feels empowered and have sense of belonging.

My favorite version of this was "Tiger Teams" as a VP at Podium. As a leader, decide 2-3 quarterly improvement items. Announce broadly and take volunteers. Meet with each Tiger Team weekly to assess progress and guide next steps. This not only empowers AE's to be future revenue leaders, it also ensures your strategies as a VP are built from both top down and bottoms up.

Empowering and involving your sales team in decision-making fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility, which can lead to more engaged and motivated employees.

Call team members often when you don't need anything. Just to say hello. Have a conversation about anything other than business. Suggest they do the same with other members of the team.

In my experience the best way to boost morale of Sales team is : 1.Celebrate small successes 2.If the objective is say X rupees in a month then : Break the monthly target into weekly target and reward & recognise weekly target achievers 3.Encourage the weekly target achievers to share their success mantra with the entire team 4.Never rebuke in public those who couldn’t achieve but have a one on one counselling session with them 5.Call Senior Leadership to give pep talks during review meetings 6.Have a Board ,in the office and pin up Pics of achievers and also have a Roll of Honour board Sales is a demanding profession and burnout is frequent, hence encourage quarterly picnic’s with family Please add if I have missed any point

I have always loved boosting morale of my sales team. It gives me great joy when I see them walking out of the meeting room like Special Forces commandos ready to take over. There are a few things I do: 1. I bring my emotion to the table. My heart's on the table. It displays passion. Passion is contagious. Just like yawning is. 2. I often start with difficult choices. It takes the elephant in the room down. I ALWAYS end with statements where I use the word "Proud" multiple times. Because I mean it. Sales is tough! 3. Praise in public & reprimand in private. I'd celebrate great wins in public but I'd call out losses purely as a learning fact. Sales teams are like front line soldiers, they need to be able to belong & believe!

In my experience, the #1 reason for poor morale is due to poor sales leadership... It can only be fixed if the sales leadership has a heart-to-heart with his/her team and says I need your help to be a better leader. Help me serve you better. That's going to be tough for a sales leader who thinks his/her way is the only way.
