How can you improve your personal brand to get noticed by your CEO?

Define your goals and ask questions like, "How will my brand goals contribute to the success of the company?". Your CEO will recognize you when you're making advances into helping his company. Know what you stand for and stand by. Having your brand goals align with your company's brand goals will give you an higher chance of getting noticed by your CEO.

One of my Mentors drilled into my head: ‘Antfarm, no one can SEE YOUR VISION!- So stop taking for granted that everyone knows the true reason for YOUR Goals..’ And they were correct- Not everyone will understand your true purpose of WHY you grind so hard. No one will truly understand your purpose UNTIL the work is DONE (or at least gaining momentum). My goals revolve around providing accurate and reliable information whenever you need it. I strive to assist in learning new concepts, solving problems you encounter, improving communication by offering guidance, and ultimately being a dependable support system whenever you seek assistance or guidance.

The key to building your personal brand is to first ensure that your vision (how the future will look) is aligned with your purpose. Then define your goals in such a way they allow you to live out your values. This will enable you to be ruthlessly consistent in living out your brand while achieving and exceeding your goals. This will get you noticed in a sustainable and successful way.

I'm not sure I've ever had a singular goal to get my CEO's attention. My goals have always been to do my very best to resolve my client's issues and provide best customer service. When selling IT solutions, it was to listen to what my client's immediate needs are and to bring a solid solution. When in the agency world, it was to listen to my client and return with solid solutions to achieve their goals. And when they were on the wrong path, my goal was to present best solution to achieve their goals and turn the issue into a win-win for all involved.

What are your strengths, skills, talents and experience?. What can you continuously bring to the table no matter what. Don't only identify your weakness but also identify your strengths. Identifying and pondering on your weakness will only make you feel inferior and it'll make you question yourself. Know where your strength lies and continuously use it to help your company. With time, your colleagues will start seeing how good you are at it.

To help you in this area consider completing the Clifton Strengths assessment. The tool is outstanding and will give you clarity on what makes you who you are. Lean into your top five strengths and surround yourself with those whose strengths compliment yours.

Showcase your leadership skills within your current role and across cross-functional projects. Take initiative, contribute innovative ideas, and actively participate in team collaborations. Demonstrate your ability to lead and inspire others, whether through mentoring colleagues or spearheading successful initiatives. Leadership qualities stand out and are likely to capture the attention of senior management, including the CEO. Consistently delivering high-quality work and exhibiting leadership qualities positions you as a standout contributor within the organization.

Identify your strengths by listing your skills, knowledge, talents and experiences. Enhance all of your strengths, showcase them in your work and share some of them for those who find it difficult.

No on will ever hear you or know what you're made of, if you find it hard to communicate or develop your voice. Your voice speaks a whole lot about you, your values and your personality. Speak with authority and confidence. Also, be authentic. Just be you and let people like you for who you are. There's no need to fake anything. Continuously work on yourself and use your voice build trust and secure the bags for your company. Your voice holds so much power in it more than you'll ever know. So don't let it go to waste.

Establish and maintain a consistent online presence to enhance your personal brand visibility. Actively engage on professional platforms like LinkedIn by sharing industry insights, participating in relevant discussions, and showcasing your expertise. Regularly update your profile with accomplishments, skills, and projects. By maintaining a visible and active presence on platforms where your CEO is likely to engage, you increase the likelihood of catching their attention and positioning yourself as a valuable contributor within the organization.

One thing I would add to the above is understanding your tone. Tone is just as important as the other attributes. Be authentic and consistent in your tone. This will allow people to get to know you and hold you in good stead.

Expanding your network is a game-changer in strengthening your personal brand. The key is being proactive, generous, and strategic, not just in making connections but in nurturing them. Providing value and seeking feedback fosters a two-way street of support and collaboration (make them feel inclusive in your journey). It's not just about who you know; it's about building meaningful relationships that open doors to information, trust, and opportunities.

Hone your communication skills to effectively convey your ideas and contributions. Clearly articulate your thoughts, whether in team meetings, presentations, or written communication. Craft a concise and compelling elevator pitch that highlights your key strengths and accomplishments. By communicating confidently and effectively, you make a lasting impression. CEOs appreciate individuals who can convey their value proposition succinctly and persuasively. Improving your communication skills not only boosts your personal brand but also increases the likelihood of being noticed by senior leadership, including the CEO.

The big thing here is not to force it. Connect with people who truly excite you by what they are doing and what they stand for. Your enthusiasm will come across in an authentic and genuine way. Then look for ways you can support their interests. That will build a bridge from which to extend your network in a sustainable and organic way.

Having been in intern for a company during my college days, I nurtured relationships which led to being rehiring upon completion of my college degree. Your network and staying in touch with your network, in a strategic way, is very important! It can be beneficial down the line.

Do this in an understated way. Humility is a powerful force. Also, share the credit. No one goes alone and those that get this concept early will be recognized as a not only an achiever but also as a leader.

In my experience, seeking new challenges not only allows you to grow personally, it allows you to grow professionally. It shows that you are ambitious and willing to adapt to new area’s of work.

The only way to stand out to a higher authority is by being who YOU are. Yes, you may have skills and talents, but so does everyone else. When it comes to impressions - your authenticity, your humility, and your integrity will always stand out to someone who is much senior, older, and wiser than you. Be polite, well-mannered, and grateful, yet not a doormat. Have boundaries and strong values, and be a person of your word. The rest will follow naturally.

Personal branding is what we used to call raising your profile. This is about doing a good job and making sure everyone knows you achieved what you set out to do. It's also about being seen. Asking relevant questions in meetings, being genuinely interested. Being yourself and true to your values. And sometimes, standing your ground, being controversial but in a respectful way that either negotiates agreement or agree to disagree. You become known for your integrity as well as your ability.
