One of life's hidden gems is the art of reading the room. Remember, it's not just about WHAT you say, but HOW you say it that truly matters. Doing your research - observe the crowd, feel the energy, tailoring your message, localizing your content can get your message across. I recently did a stand up comedy set in Manila. The audience was vastly different in terms of demographics (age, gender, industry) so I did my research and went to check out the open mic night a week before to see who are the comics on stage and what the vibe was like. The language mostly spoken was Filipino. I sprinkled in some local phrases to add flavour to my humour to my English set and chose a them that’s relatable to the audience (social media and online dating).
