Sé consciente de que debes de establecer espectativas entendibles, acotadas en el tiempo, medibles y que no generen dudas a la hora de ponerse a trabajar. Que sean incrementales, es decir, que tengan un seguimiento asociado por parte del mánager y que se establezcan en periodos de tiempo..., en el primer mes, en el tercer mes y en el sexto mes, por ejemplo. Recuerda que como mánager, eres un facilitador, así que asegurate de poner sesiones de feedback y seguimiento para poder apoyar en los avances de tu colaborador.

Utiliza un empathy map canvas para que te sirva de guía y según vayas agendando y manteniendo 1:1 con tu colaborador, rellenes y completes su mapa de empatía para saber como adecuar el discurso, como mentorizarle, como aportarle valor. Es una herramienta muy potente que, como mánager o responsable, debes de utilizar en este tipo de entornos.

Observation usually happens while you are caring for infants and toddlers. So you may not have uninterrupted time to record your observations. Often teachers record their observations (also called documentation) when children are sleeping, at the end of the day after children leave, or during planning time.

We are always our own harshest critics. A mentee will probably be mentally waiting to answer the open questions. However it is the Mentors role to make the safe space that the Mentee can feel that they can give their introspection on themselves. Active Listening, open body language and a caring ear will make the difference.

El análisis a través de un DAFO es muy interesante. Además de DAFO, utilizar un mapa de empatía para socializarse mejor con el colaborador o colaboradora va a ser muy beneficioso en la relación entre el manager y el equipo. Si como líder o manager logras mantener conversaciones cercanas con tus colaboradores serás capaz de obtener unos inputs muy sinceros e interesantes que te darán las ideas para, a través de dinámicas que plantees, lograr mantener un alto rendimiento.

Es clave cuando se identifican los puntos fuertes y los de mejora facilitar herramientas de formación y seguimiento, así se va afianzando y se asegura que haya un recorrido profesional y crecimiento. Estableced puntos de control semanales o quincenales donde ver los avances, resolver dudas y gestionar si es necesario nuevas formaciones o documentación a consultar.

La revisión del performance e ir aplicando ciertos ajustes, debidamente alineados con el propio colaborador, es muy necesario si queremos manteber un alto rendimiento y motivación a nivel individual y de equipo de trabajo. Estos ajustes se deben de realizar con objetivos marcados y fijando hitos intermedios con fechas concretas, así podemos realizar seguimientos y facilitar cualquier aspecto que sea necesario para el crecimiento del colaborador.
