To identify inefficiencies through critical thinking, one can gather stakeholders in a brainstorming session and the main questions to ask in such sessions are the following. Do we have any process within our operations that takes you so much time to complete, generate waste within the operations and utilizes more spend than allocated. To address this inefficiencies ones they have been agreed upon by the team. The following steps can be used: 1. Identify the problem. 2. Create a problem statement. 3. Check and review standards versus actuals based on data. 4. Do a gemba. 5. Gather data and set SMART targets for what you want to achieve. 6. Use problem solving tools to identify root cause. 7. Develop an action plan and implement solution.

To address inefficiencies in business operations first we need to gather data, define the problem, analyze processes critically, brainstorm solutions, evaluate options, implement changes gradually, and foster continuous improvement. Communication, staying informed, and documentation are crucial. Applying these steps with critical thinking can optimize operations effectively and contribute to business success

Recognize capabilities starting from assets in the form of units, costs, current competency skills so that it will produce figures on how capable you are in achieving production (realistic thinking), optimization and maximization are normal things but still adjusted to capabilities 2. Make problems visible, split between where/when we see the problem and where/when the problem is not present. Collect adequate data. Make sure that everyone has the same understanding of what problem we are solving and everybody has the same information.

In my experience start by go and see the problem with the group and then problem solve by asking why? Make sure everybody contributes. Define at the beginning what is the definition of a root cause so you know when to stop asking why. Make sure you have a diverse group including the ones that are responsible to carry on the tasks.

Reflection is one of the most important steps. Evaluate the process and the outcome, detect failures and improve upon them. Integrate improvements to the process next time you reuse it.
