We humans always underestimate our comfort zone. We frequently told ourself that we push beyond our comfort zone, but it's not actually correct. Primarily you need to mentor your mentee to find their limits where actually their comfort zone lies. Then after giving them some realistic expectations in order to push their limits and eventually make them to go beyond their comfort zone.

It's very easy to learn some surface-level information and then move on. If you see this is what your mentee is doing challenge them to take a deeper dive and tackle more challenging material and concepts in the STEM space.
