An area where involving employment counsel (at least in British Columbia, which is where I practice) can help is in avoiding public disputes by building in enforceable dispute resolution clauses into employment contracts for high-profile employees. A well-drafted contract can also avoid many other issues such as disputes over “reasonable notice” or severance.
