In simple layman's terms resource estimation is a method of assigning a volume or tonnage of a certain suite of minerals contained in a certain geographic location. Terms like pre-resource, inferred, indicated and measured are based on the degree of data being gathered which are analyzed and reviewed by qualified technical personnel such as geologists, mining engineers and economists wherein the quality and confidence of the data and its interpretation increases to an acceptable degree of certainty, of which the "measured resource" is the most reliable.

I Do This: 1. Ore: Rocks/dirt with minerals inside, like diamonds or gold. 2. Grade: The rocks/dirt have different amounts of minerals inside, some more or less. We pick it based on volume or weight. 3. Cut-off: How we choose rocks/dirt we want with the most/best minerals, the easiest to get to with the best value, etc. 4. Resource Classification: Sorting the rocks/dirt into different types/groups. 5. Geostatistics: We map where all the best/valuable rocks/dirt MIGHT be. 6. Resources/Reserves: All the rocks/dirt with the best and worst amount of minerals (Inferred) Umm, maybe| (Indicated) Ohh Shi+| probably (Measured) Hell, yeah! 7. Codes/Standards: Rules and steps we must follow for gov./people to trust us to look for or remove minerals.
