I think the following steps can be helpful- 1. Try to quantify the objectives as they are easy to track and measure the progress. I would recommend to have common metrics/KPI's across departments which makes easier and motivates everyone to achieve the goal. 2. Identify the pain points in your current supply chain network and the areas where improvement is needed. 3. While looking at different technology options, evaulate the ease of integration to your exisiting platform. No matter if it's the best software, the ease of integration is important as you would probably have thousands or lakhs of files/database that might need to be upgraded/transferred to the new platform.

As all above contributions express, monitoring and continued improvement is a key element for success. However, it is easy to drown among multiple dashboards and KPIs. Information overload leads to clutter. Clutter can hide the actual problems. Therefore, it is extremely important for leadership to identify the most critical couple of KPIs to monitor and be consistent in monitoring. All other sub measurements can be delegated to team members to run diagnostics.

This is where an operations manager or leader is going to excel.
