Research and Communication - Start by informing your GPO, Suppliers and Sales reps that you are going to drive sustainability. They have the data to start the path, BUT you should research the manufactures, growers, ranchers and farmers that they bring to your door. And travel to their door to investigate. Is the hype Awarded, Documented and Proven to be what the label claims.

Consumers - understand how their participation in SDG can really help them. 2. Process - That everyone within your organization is breathing in the same air & walk the talk. 3. Finally do not wait until you are ask , go out and ensure that progress in this is taking place. Line up the stages applicable. 4. Source local and seasonal wherever possible. When it comes to contracting, make sure that it is part of your requirements that packaging is at a minimum and wherever possible reusable. It will take some effort on your part, but do your research and ask questions about where the original raw materials are coming from. If a supplier cannot provide that information, then move on to someone else who can.

I often find suppliers by asking colleagues and team members. Of course, going to conventions and fairs is also a great way to meet new vendors and try out their products.

After all it's mutually beneficial to be able to find solutions and be on the same page on these matters. We are all trying to sail in the same directions, just our boats might be a little different.
