FilmFreeway has marketing tools to put your film in their newsletter and make it discoverable for festival producers who will offer you discounts and even complete fee waivers to apply to their festivals. It's difficult to orient yourself in the huge sea of festivals. Tip: choose annual festivals that have in-person screenings (there are many monthly online only festivals nowadays that don't really get you any audience), maybe check for Oscar qualifying festivals because they tend to be the best established ones. Follow a successful animator you like and see at which smaller festivals they have screened their films.
