I think that among the emerging technologies AR and Blockchain has a lot of potential to improve how one engages with external parties. In a construction project, AR can help visualize the design of say an equipment by its supplier and let one see if anything would be problem at site. It can also be useful in communicating the current state of progress by a supplier or contractor. Engineering team can minimize impact if a change is to be implemented. Blockchain can help ensure that proper previous stages are completed before the next stage is under taken. This could help avoid out-of-sequence activities and ensure better quality.

I think that with emerging technologies machine learning can possibly help in learn and improve aspect. ML can help discover trends which lead to quality defects and help in pointing towards a solution. I believe that the success of this approach would depend on the availability and volume of relevant past data. This can be an effective way to improve quality if sufficient past data is available to get a good result out of ML.

Quality control is one of the most essential tool used for the product produced. Establish where you want to integrate the emerging technologies into the currently systems. Run trials with the new technologies and collect data, that will be used for analysis. Trials can be ran during production or off days for data collection. The data also helps you to make optimizations before allowing the new system to fully operate. If it's possible, let the old system and the new one run parallel and then make live comparisons on which one runs better. Also, sometimes both systems can run together at the same time for higher efficiency. While doing all this activities, it is important to communicate with all the relevant parties and stakeholders.
