My mantra for ensuring maximum attendance at my webinars is; 'Start on time and finish on time'. We are all invited to many calls, and often rush from one to another so punctuality is key. Otherwise, if you go over the allocated time, colleagues may need to drop off the call and feel they are missing out on some relevant information that they won't have a chance to hear. I ask all my presenters to practice their speech before the call, change the narrative and adjust their time accordingly. I explain that we all need to extend our courtesy to others and allow other speakers to have their say in a timely manner. No-one wants to rush their presentation because the previous speaker wasn't respectful of their time.
