In my experience - some of the best high-performing teams often set their objectives and goals from the get go. That allows them to align every time there is a need. The team members know their individual R&R and their scope of work. The task allocation is clear and the deadlines and milestones are properly communicated through normalized protocols. A strong Program / Project manager allows all to thrive by reminding them what's expected (and by when). And when challenges arise - there is both ad-hoc and regularly scheduled sessions to address red flags. All of these are subject to change by the group dynamics - but having these fundamental pillars of engagement in place makes the team work smoother and faster...

I completely agree, however, it is important to emphasize that in order to truly value diversity, it is necessary that, apart from the leader, every team member actively acknowledges and respects those differences. Having worked in small and large companies in the US and abroad - I find that diversity is key to the success of the company. It's not as easy as it reads - as the DNA of the company needs to be set to value diverse perspectives and designed for an inclusive environment - and that usually starts from the top (and trickles often down).

Throughout my career I recommended both my associates and my colleagues to continue learning and developing their hard and soft skills - outside of our work load. To do that successfully I encourage curiosity and never think I know the answer. Providing training opportunities goes a long way in strutctured support but also can go an extra mile with the proper coaching and mentoring. Feedback culture is a must, when done right, to receive constructive insights and do better in each iteration; including but not limited to sharing best practices and reflection of individuals experiences. Lastly - "leading by example" - The ability to demonstrate (instead of talk about...) commitment to continuous learning is a must.
