If I'm allowed to give my best opinion, I'll move away from the desktop hosted applications model to an application being streamed to the end-user devices using technologies such as AWS AppStream, which removes the dependencies and simplifies the whole process. Or at least, I would encourage to use virtual desktops such as Amazon Workspaces or VDI etc, which doesn't allow downloading the data onto the machine they're being accessed from. This way, protecting the application with DevSecOps for further releases, scaling and benchmarking it with foundational best practices, securing it, management of identities, user pools is all seamless and can be done in a centralised manner, regardless of end-user devices.
