Prior to start of work. Be present and oversee the toolbox meeting between the supervisors and their workers. Check to ensure the competent workers are present. Listen attentively to their meeting and instructions. Check the understanding of each workers after the supervisor had completed his part. Test them of the work required as well as when an emergency occurs. Share with the contractors what to look out for. Follow up periodically and check on progress. Having a competent contractor is a blessing but it’s totally nerve wrecking when they are not.
