That last minute read and edit could save you from making big blunders. Take a break, look at the content with fresh mind and you'll find something that could be corrected/tweaked. Get help from a colleague to perform the final checks. We tend to get carried away with the errors and typos as we have been reading and editing the content for so long. A fresh pair of eyes can catch some obvious mistakes that we might have missed out. A simple check on those red underlines which the word processor has highlighted could save you from spelling errors (before you accept them blindly, please check if it really makes sense).
