I share the acronym FAIL - "First (or Further) Attempt(s) In Learning" with my clients to help them remember that failure is an integral part of the learning journey.

You can also monitor their progress and performance, and provide them with timely and relevant feedback. You can also review and evaluate their results and outcomes, and help them celebrate their achievements, learn from their failures, and plan their next steps.
Perfectionism is a huge obstacle that can block idea flow. I am a huge fan of principles of Design Thinking, especially the activities shared in the books 'Designing Your Life' and 'Designing Your New Work Life.' Just like writing and editing are two separate tasks, idea generation and idea selection are two separate tasks. I recommend leaders set 20 minutes once a week to let the ideas flow without judgment as a start. Working with a coach (especially one with life design experience) can illuminate where we let judgement creep into the process.
