Use this “dead air” as background with the new foley and match its volume with the dead air of the original audio and adjust as needed. Every site has its own unique sound.

It's tough, but doable! Get close to your sound source – the less distance for noise to travel, the better. A shotgun mic (like the Sennheiser MKH8060 or MKH416) is key, as they focus on what's right in front of them. Windscreens and pop filters block distracting breath/wind sounds. Shock mounts combat handling noise. Something that has helped me in the past is to build a fort with blankets, they absorb noise pretty well. Post-production tools (noise reduction, EQ) can further clean things up, now with AI cleaning audio has become easier! Remember, every bit of noise you tackle upfront makes a huge difference in the mix!
