Networking is a crucial skill for any professional, but it can be challenging to do it effectively in a virtual environment. How can you make meaningful connections, showcase your analytical skills, and build trust with potential collaborators, mentors, or employers online? Analyze your purpose! What skills do you want to highlight? Something I found helpful is adding key words on my LinkedIn profile but also using them during quick chats. It is about having the right words for the right moment! These keywords help my network and potential connections understand my skills and experience, and this can trigger their interest in connecting or chatting with me.

Not to be confused with just talking about yourself! =) To add a light hearted spin to this comment, i think showcasing value is not just about talking about your achievements, opinions and goals but also about listening to what your network is concerned or interested in and add your thoughts around that context, indirectly exhibiting your knowledge and experience.
Networking is not only about exchanging information, but also about creating rapport and trust with your contacts. You can build trust and rapport by being respectful, honest, and supportive. You can also show your personality and interest in them as individuals, not just as professionals. You can do that by using a friendly and conversational tone, using their name, expressing gratitude, giving compliments, or sharing some personal details or stories. You can also use humor, emojis, or gifs, if appropriate, to add some fun and warmth to your communication.
During networking activities, practicing active listening comes first! This will help you to engage in a more effective way by asking relevant questions to the topic or exchanging opinions or similar scenarios with your new connections. You want to learn from them, and understand how you relate to each other.
The best way to do this is being authentic. If you respect others, you will get that respect back and the trust and rapport comes naturally...

As a group program launch coach and trainer I will like to add some other suggestions when networking virtually. 1 - As a group Facilitator, you need to be able to listen to the strengths of each individual and be able to connect them with relevant others for collaboration and/or partnerships. 2 - As a participating come to the networking event without an "agenda" and be totally honest with yourself and others. 3 - Use ice-breaker games, offer laser-coaching sessions for a taste of your services, use break out rooms for extra interaction. Networking online or offline can be so much fun and help you grow and progress in life or business.
