Go work for a green builder. Start earning money in the business and then look for side jobs in the industry until you can go off on your own. If you were 19, I'd say maybe to school. At a later age, I say start hustling NOW. Use your free time at night to learn what you need to know by watching videos, reading, podcasts, etc. To all aspiring entrepreneurs... the younger you start working for yourself, the easier it is. Don't wait till your mid thirties and tied down with mortgages, kids, etc.

Reading online publications, attending webinars and other forms of continuing Education in this sector of Building Design to increase LEED edification promotes a better well rounded Design Professional, even if certification has not been achieved. Certification in any discipline by ordinary routine standards and accepted procedures to attain the credential is most certainly accepted, nevertheless before formal procedures, Universities and webinars were established, GUILDS were the standards of education being passed from person to person. Any means to improve one's mind in a positive manner to edify themselves in a subject of interest is acceptable and benefits everyone.

This is not a trade that you will learn from school. Sure you could learn some useful things on the design side, but nothing beats hands in experience when it comes to construction. This isn't something I would go to school for though unless I had experience in the industry and knew what I needed to learn.
