Toda operación busca reducir costos, procesos, desperdicio (muda) y agregar más valor; sin embargo, el definir el valor futuro es muy crítico pues depende mucho de entender la estrategia de negocio y, de cierta forma, aterrizar la estrategia de la operación y la cadena de suministro en consecuencia. Solo entendiendo cómo el negocio requiere que la operación sea su socio, se plasmarán efectivamente las magnitudes de mejora esperadas, los críticos de calidad (CTQ) de la operación al negocio y a los clientes. No siempre debemos reducir inventario, pues la liquidez de la empresa puede ser buena, además que puede existir una variable exogena que genere alta demanda del mercado o debemos eliminar procesos que terminan siendo necesarios.

Esto nos permite tener una visión más amplia de la necesidad de la compa?ía. Partiendo de este punto, se puede realizar un mapeo del flujo de valor con sus procesos involucrados dentro de la cadena de suministro, lo que nos ayuda a visualizar, analizar y mejorar el flujo de materiales dentro de esta, priorizando así el enfoque en las áreas de mejora que nos garanticen aumentar la rentabilidad del proceso. El mapeo del flujo de valor sienta las bases para un futuro plan de mejoras que se alineen a los objetivos trazados.

Normalmente pensamos em inova??es como tecnologias, mas muitas vezes um processo devidamente repensado pode ter um impacto muito maior na elimina??o de desperdícios do que um novo sistema de informática, por exemplo.
