"What" & "Why" should be clearly articulated before finalizing "How".Nowadays we skip the 1st part & focus directly on "How" which is not the correct approach.Identify the problem statement or Business need and articulate it clearly and then find solutions that will address this pain points.

From my experience, it is very important for the Insurer to complete minimum viable product in few months and ask the end users to test them to make sure new products will benefit the Business.I have seen many companies buying a product but never use them as the it was not tested enough by the end users during the sales process.

One thing I have find helpful is to understand how product upgrades are delivered and is there any cost associated to adopt the changes. Additionally, cost of maintenance needs to be considered.
