What a great UX vision isn't: 1. It's not a hand-wavy exposition of some technological future. 2. It's also not a detailed mockup of some new UI designed without constraints. Your vision needs to be focused on the user and how their life or work is better. How they feel using the product, how much more they CAN do, or how much less they HAVE to do. The vision will tell a story, but not try to outline every solution. This is a vision of the future, and there will be many things learned along the way that will change how you approach each problem. There should also be some concreteness as well. Concepts, rather than detailed mockups, help everyone get a clearer picture of what this future looks and feels like and what to aspire to.

One thing people tend to take lightly is communication with your audience. UX isn't boxed into what your app/product looks like but the messaging it is anchored on. You want to build a strong product narrative that your users can relate to - a story that they belong to. And this is only achievable if you think customer, speak customer, walk customer and sneeze customer.
