Many ERP solutions provide extensive training / e-learning and certification. Always ensure that you're up to date on your current area of responsibility, but at the same time use the opportunity to share 'what's new' in the system, because of periodic new feature releases. Strive to be the 'Subject Matter Expert' (or SME) on these new feature / functionality and support the team.

Not just in ERP, but across IT, it's essential to continually update your skills. What is relevant today in technology might not be so tomorrow. My approach to learning goes beyond just attending webinars or earning certifications. I strongly believe in the power of community involvement. Participating in various community events, learning from experienced mentors, and being actively involved in hackathons enriches my understanding. This method offers insights and experiences that simply attending webinars or acquiring certifications cannot provide. Engaging with the community brings a more profound and practical perspective to the constantly changing landscape of IT.

A few of the effective ways are: 1. Upskill yourself and encourage your direct reports to do the same in the respective areas of work involving ERP 2. Try and implement the newly gained knowledge and acquired skills if possible in the current project work 3. Conduct monthly presentation to the Leadership to show case what you have learned and how the customers or end users have benefitted through the implementation There are more ways, and the ones listed come from my own experience and benefits I received.

Updation in the skills is essential to stay in the market. There are various latest areas keep adding in the ERPs such as Power BI, Reports, Financials and many other areas which need skills to be pro in particular functionality.

1. The first impression that lasts forever is important here. Try to be the first or one of the first set of staff to embrace the change. 2. Explain your past successful ERP projects to your line manager and the need to build on this track record by getting an advanced role in the company's ERP project. Where this is your first project, demonstrate how you have equipped yourself with skills required for the ERP project. 3. Display the zeal and support your talk with actions by following up the ERP process by contributing your quota. 4. When the chance is given, be at the forefront of the change. Immerse yourself in the process as if it is your KPI. 5. Don't overdo it by making decisions on your own except you have the approval to do so.

In a competitive workplace, employees must use effective strategies to stand out. Strategies that have worked for me include setting an example in different Proof of Concept (POC) projects on emerging ERP topics, volunteering for other projects within the company, and sharing knowledge with colleagues to inspire them. Always look for improvement opportunities in current projects and propose cost-effective Best Practice solutions. This not only earns your employer's praise but also impresses the customer. Particularly in consultancy, winning the customer's trust is key; everything else usually follows.

This is essential for the employees to promote employer ERP services, success stories and future functionality going to be added so the customer can get the information from multiple channels of the service provider.

What worked for me: 1. Understanding the shortfalls of the current ERP system, suggesting enhancements, doing POCs, getting support from the Leadership and finally implementing 2. Benefits Analysis after the enhancements on cost, time and effort savings while using the ERP.system 3. Getting testimonials from customer side business users if possible

Prepare a business case using SWOT Analysis and show them how it is aligned to the company goal. Cover all the departments which are going to get the benefits and estimate how it will give an impact in P&L.

Something I've found helpful in the past is to ask to be included in areas / roles that you would normally not be a part of, example, the pre-sales discussion or even data migration process. This helps expand your understanding of the ERP as a whole and indicates to the management that you're keen on building up to more responsibilities.

Don't rely on your memory when it comes to something as important as your promotion. Because you will forget. Keep a record of all your achievements and most importantly the business impact it had. Providing your manager with stats to add to your promotion business case will work in your favour.

It is not just about seeking a promotion in ERP, demonstrating commitment, punctuality, dedication and reliablity to your employer always help you stand out as a valuable employee. To show more commitment to your employer, that you are ready even for a promotion in ERP, is to take on more and more responsibilities and more challenges. You can also volunteer to lead new projects, mentor and train junior colleagues, solve a complex problem. And you can always suggest improvements and innovations that can enhance the ERP system and improve the business process.

A feedback loop is always welcome, in any organization. For those working with ERP solutions, try to have a 'stock take' session after each engagement (when possible) to discuss with other more experienced teams - was this the right process? What could have we done differently to affect the outcome in a positive manner? How would you have responded to this issue? Once this is done, it's highly recommended for you to compare the previous feedback against what was improved in the following project or engagement. Go back to those who gave you feedback and share with them how you've incorporated their input - and how the project has gotten better due to their feedback.

Be creative when asking for feedback. In my experience people are reluctant to write honest feedback in an email. Take someone for a coffee, explain you would like honest suggestions on things to work on. Ask what you do well as well as where you could do better. Ask how you are perceived. Another way for the slightly techy people is to create an anonymous survey with very specific questions you can send to a select group of people. Ask the questions in a way that allow them to give you both positive areas and suggestions for improvements. Be clear you need them to be as honest as positive in order for you to act on their feedback and therefor you have made it anonymous

Ensure your company understands your an expert in both the system and the company processes. And with that unique insight that you can implement teach and lead.

I agree with all of the above topics. Very important and in my view the first step is to communicate your desire to be promoted early. Normally promotions are awarded once or twice a year. Your manager has to put a business case together as to why you need to be promoted. Your job is to make it easy for them to create this business case. Asking for a promotion should start 6-12 months before you expect the promotion. Asking just before reward season is too late. Agree with your manager on what is expected of you to qualify for a promotion. Document your progress and check in with your manager regularly.
