And make sure that you can explain the logic behind every single concept that you've used. As a fresher, the only thing that can count as work experience is your project contribution, either open source or something that you do for fun. So, make sure that you show as much proficiency as you can through that!

Certainly, you should discuss the most relevant projects you've worked on using specific languages and how you overcame challenges and obstacles. Explain the decision-making process behind your code, showcasing your knowledge. Clarify your thought process, showcase your contributions to open source, emphasize your continuous learning, and highlight your online presence. Above all, make it clear that you not only know how to write code but also understand programming languages, possess problem-solving skills, and have a high capacity for teamwork. Demonstrate confidence and effective communication to showcase both your technical skills and your potential for critical thinking.

One of the things that really makes candidates stand out is daily consistency on github. At the end of the day, anyone can memorize concepts - but when I hire I want to see dedication, hard work, and consistency. A person who shows me they are passionate enough to contribute to their own repository every day for 2 months is MUCH more valuable than a person who crams a study session in for 1 week. If you build discipline and routine around your coding practices, you'll innately know many of the questions that we could ask on a test BUT you'll have something no other candidate has in addition to that.

Some great resources to practice solving problems are via the famous Blind 75 on Leetcode and websites like Hackerrank. For any problem, you can find a plethora of great explanations on YouTube from sources like Neetcode and Structy. Be sure to try to solve them on your own first- if you do need to view an answer that’s fine- but be sure to recreate it from memory and understand what each line of code actually does. By redoing and internalizing solutions, you’ll become able to solve harder unfamiliar problems through combining what you’ve learned. Baseline knowledge on data structures and algorithms is also greatly helpful. CLRS is of course a famous recommendation, but there is also a great free course online via MIT’s Open Courseware.
