How can you decide when to close a bug in software development?

The way to prioritize is how frequently or how much of the discomfort is there due to this bug. If the user always needs to follow a workaround then it is a clear indication that the bug has higher priority. If the workflow is not very widely used then it can be of low priority. The rule of thumb is the more usable the feature the higher is it priority.

It's also essential to consider who or what is affected by the bug. This could span from a specific subset of users, the underlying systems the software operates on, to even the developers themselves. Recognizing the scope of a bug's influence can greatly shape its prioritization and resolution strategy.
