How can you customize a presentation for your audience?

Try to understand your audiences expectation very high level. For example use a Menti with one question at the beginning ex “What are your expectations from today’s presentation?”. This will give a an idea of what they are looking to get out of the presentation and help you put focus on what matters to your audience.

It is definitely a good idea to use some examples from Your perevious works, because not only will it show how experienced You are, but also giving a hint to Your audience, that with time and knowledge comes the mastering of skills and they can observe You as a good example, not only a coach to follow.

Adapt your content, but be aware of your style. This article places far too much emphasis on changing who you are rather than owning that. Much better to have ownership of what you do know, and be open about signposting to further information than it is to blag it as if you know and/or can do everything. Don't "convey" confidence and enthusiasm - own them!

You also want to make sure that room is how you want it - do blinds need adjusting? Are you happy with the seating arrangement? How is the temperature? When you're speaking, you need to own the space, and preparation of this practically, as well as through rehearsal, is very important. Check who will be on hand if you need help. "What can go wrong, will go wrong" as the saying goes. Play to your strengths: if you need cue cards or notes, there's no problem with this. If you can speak freely and clearly, how will you stay on track/time/point?

Listen to the feedback from the people you value, and weigh that against how you felt yourself. Ignore everything else. Could it have gone better? For sure, it always can; but you need to be kind to yourself when taking feedback, especially if you do it from multiple sources. Better to ask for specific feedback from different sources as best suits their specialism. Don't pester the audience directly as to what they thought of you: if you want their opinion, a follow up e-mail to the administrator of the organisation, or a slide at the end with a QR code to an online form is far better. People will be more likely to be honest if the option to feedback is anonymous. If something is unduly harsh, then let it slip like water from a duck's back!
