How can you create unique photo effects using blend modes and opacity sliders?

One thing to remember while using these various filters and effects is to constantly save and re-save your work.Because once you get it to a certain progress point where you think it looks good, it only takes the readjustment of one or two sliders to totally destroy whatever you may've achieved. At that point, you may find yourself unable to acquire that one perfect effect again. So please remember to keep saving. Experiment, then save.

Blend modes and opacity sliders are graphical tools often used in image editing and design software to manipulate how different layers or elements in an image interact with each other. They control how colors and pixels from one layer blend or combine with the layers below it. Both blend modes and opacity sliders are essential tools for artists, designers, and photographers to create various effects, manipulate the appearance of images, and control the visibility of different layers within a composition.

I think Blend Modes and Opacity is a great feature, however it cannot be the only things that you need to be aware of. Because these features can be stacked with other features. For example, I would often use these two features which then are also stacked with Masking or Clipping Masks, then I operate the Opacity sliders. Because working with opacity sliders are very GLOBAL, while masking then using the Opacity slider will give you a more refined effect to blend layers together with the chosen Blend Modes.

Opacity sliders are just sitting always right in the layer section of the program / software. Generally, you would have to select the layer that you want to edit and slide dow the sliders using percents or just the slider itself. Also note that there are two different kinds of opacity which is Fill and Opacity which is quite different to one another. Whilst Opacity affects everything in the layer, Fill does not affect the Stroke Effect applied to the layer.

Theres plenty of ways to do this and using blend modes and opacity is one of the way to achieve a certain look in an image. I did mention that blend modes and opacity is just two features of a bigger picture, so you would need to reduce and remove or even stack more than just 1 layer of grading to the same picture.

Simply Put int Photography, You would expose the same picture / film twice before moving to the next shot. It can mean as simple as two or more pictures stacked together. It can be seamless or not seamless. To achieve Clean Double Exposure Effect, I would generally need to have LOW KEY (BLACK) or HIGH KEY (WHITE) photos which can then be used to stack another picture on top. Because having everything stacked together would create a messy look because everything is jumbled. This sort of create a BLANK CANVAS in a non blank canvas so we could add in the 2nd or 3rd picture inside. We can then create this effect in our software by using Blend Modes and Opacity.
