I'd start by organizing the website so it's easy to find things. That means putting similar stuff together and using clear labels, like "Jobs" or "Articles". Next, I'd make sure the most important things are easy to see. I might put important links on the homepage or in the menu. I'd also use pictures or drop-down menus to show how things are connected. This helps people understand where they are on the website. And I'd keep things the same on every page, so people don't get confused. Finally, I'd ask people to try out the website and tell me if they have any problems. Their feedback can help me make it even easier to use!

What this article doesn't reference is navigation patterns that can have no menu element at all, such as a wizard-style presentation/process, or a feed. One thing I often see as a mistake with a lot of websites and SaaS products with their navigation is their misuse of icons. There are only a handful of icons that are almost universally recognised, such as an X at the top right to close something, or hamburger menu to expose more navigation, to name a few. A part from these easily recognisable icons, it can be very difficult for users to understand what an icon means without having to click on it to find out.
