Content distribution should be planned well in advance. It starts from identifying right channels and collaborators who can help in reaching out to intended target audience. This is probably the most critical step. I will often refer back to my audience persona/avatar to inform my content strategy. Start with deeply understanding and describing your audience and then start creating. Otherwise you end up with a hodgepodge of content that is rudderless.

Knowing your niche is the most important thing. Once you have the audience base you can experiment with different topics. But when you are starting, you have to create content keeping in mind the few followers that you are having. They will only consume your content if it will be addressing any specific problem of theirs. So you really need to be focused on the tone and topics that you are choosing for your content. A special mention of tone here, as the tone will make you stand aside from the crowd, your tone will be your online personality. To take some examples: Gary Vee has a very aggressive brutal tone on the other hand Jay Shetty is calm like hell.

Define your target audience: Understand who your content is intended for, their interests, needs, and preferences. This will help you create content that resonates with them. Plan your content strategy: Determine the goals of your content, whether it's to educate, entertain, or inspire your audience. Create an editorial calendar to organize your content creation and distribution schedule. Choose the right content formats: Consider the preferences of your target audience and select the appropriate content formats such as blog posts, videos, infographics, podcasts, or social media posts.

So this completely depends on the demography of your audience, if you are creating content for teenagers: it needs to be in micro-video format. If you are creating content for professionals it needs to move on the text side. Why do Insta and Snap have micro video content and LinkedIn has more on the text side of content? Once you have an understanding of the demography of the audience you can easily play from there. After that distribution won't be a problem. Another way of selecting a channel is by answering this question, "Where does my ideal audience hang out the most?" Remember that the same person hanging out on LinkedIn is on Instagram and YouTube, but for three separate reasons, and you cannot choose all three channels. Even if you do, you need to have different messaging across those three channels.

One can also be creative with their channel of delivery. Because of market segmentation, it becomes difficult to stand out through the normal methods of communication which calls for creativity. Repurposing is great way to maximise on your content to the fullest as one has already invested their time and energy in producing that piece of content. Repurposing like converting your blog post in a script for reel (visual), to twitter threads ( byte sized info) or an infographic (consumable & shareable ) for Linkedin. Never ever underestimate the power of repurposing.

There is no limit to how many times you can repurpose content (only if it's not topical). Repurposing not only helps you save time and energy to create content from scratch, but it also helps your audience remember you better when you reiterate your message. And that's where brand loyalty starts.

Feedbacks are the real things !! While you move on to preparing your next piece of content, always go back to previous content pieces and know what improvements/additions your audience is expecting. Once you know that, you can create content that is as per wish of your audience which brings more results.

Repurposing can be the lifesaver you haven't used yet. When you are in a funk and you don't know what to post, you can always spice and old post up and use that.

Scheduling your content is right on the money! It forces you to have a 360 view of what's on your plate and makes you really think about how your consumer will - well - consume it!
